About Us
MacGillivray's
MacGillivray's has been in business in Helensburgh since 1989. Recently, Sandy and Margaret decided that semi-retirement would be a good option and they sold their shop in Helensburgh in 2015.
Sandy and Margaret couldn't quite stop working completely, though, and they are now concentrating on their online business.
Over the years, MacGillivray's built a great catalogue of quality Scottish gifts and jewellery and, with the addition of some other select products, now sell online to clients from around the world.
In 2015, we sold our shop - and our online offer of products is getting smaller. You can find some of our products on eBay
Sheila Fleet Jewellery
We first met Sheila and her husband Rick in Aviemore - that was at least twenty-five years ago. Sheila was just building up her own jewellery design business and, looking at her stand at the Aviemore trade show, it was really obvious that she was going to be extremely successful. Sheila continues to design and develop new collections annually. With a passion for her island environment, Sheila creates her original designs reflecting nature's wonderful sea, sky and landscape colours. Orkney's history and folklore are also a rich medium for her inspiration. Sheila's son Martin and his wife Mairi now help run and manage the business.
Hebridean Jewellery
The first time we visited the Aviemore trade show in early 1989, we were novices - we had no real idea of how to go about finding new suppliers. We did know that we wanted to support Scottish craftsmen and women and, with that sole thought in mind, we started walking around the various stands, trying to gauge what types of products we would be able to sell. We knew that we wanted to deal with companies who weren't already represented in our local area and whose work we would be happy to stock. While walking round the show, we both spotted a company whose jewellery featured Celtic silver designs. The (very) shy stallholder left us to our own devices and we picked up a brochure and wandered on. Some weeks later, one of our customers asked if we would be able to supply a silver kilt pin and Margaret promptly said - "I don't have one in stock but I know exactly where I can get one!" and that was the beginning of a very successful relationship with Hebridean Jewellery.
