Product Information

Silver Cufflinks - St Magnus Cathedral, Orkney

These St Magnus Cathedral cufflinks are based on one of three circular sandstone carvings in Orkney’s St Magnus Cathedral. The intricate design features a number of carvings reminiscent of fleur-de-lis. The inner cross is held within a square, which in turn is held within the circular design. The surface of the cufflinks has a polished silver finish with the edges of the design highlighted in oxidised silver. The diameter of the cufflinks is approximately 23mm wide.

Sheila based her Cathedral collection on three beautiful carvings found on the east wall of St Magnus Cathedral in Orkney. Carved into the red sandstone, these date to around the 13th century and may once have been associated with altars dedicated to St Margaret, St Catherine and St Barbara.
